The Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering is internationally recognized for its conferences, technical symposiums and workshops, which are hosted by CIMarE’s branches. Several are co-hosted by related professional societies.
The Institute holds the annual Mari-Tech Conference and Exhibition with the goal of enhancing collaboration, sharing ideas, and improving the quality of research and development within the marine industry.

If you are considering attending Mari-Tech 2016 and have concerns about St. John’s historical record of flight delays and cancellations due to fog, you can be reassured by the fact that a $53 Million upgrade to the airport’s runway and instrument landing system has just been completed. The new CAT 3 landing systems are the most advanced in the world and will bring landing reliability fully in line with Canada’s two busiest airports, Toronto Pearson and Vancouver International.
